Best thing I have gotten recently, Keurig single cup coffee maker. You get these wicked little cups and all you have to is add water to this machine and you can make all different kinds of coffee without any mess or any misguided attempts of trying to figure out how much coffee to put in the machine.

Story - Getting into my car at fiddleheads, attempt to start it and it won't start. With all of the bad luck with cars in the past that I have had I just assume that it's something serious. Call a buddy to see if he has jumper cables, of course he does not. Sitting in the car on what I call the coldest day of the year so far. I come to realize that my gas light is on, and maybe I am just out of gas. Well sure enough there is a gas station right beside fiddleheads, so I buy a jerry can and fill it with gas, but I don't screw on the lid tight enough and I get gas all over my hand when attempting to put it in the gas tank. After is all said and done I ended up being out of gas. I reeked like gas for the next couple of days.

Best part about a blog is that you can write about how extremely cool you are without any of your faults.

Elliott Brood - Ambassador

When you look at the description of Brood's music it says it's folk. Well this folk artist is one of the toughest folk artists that I have every heard. The song "Twill" might be the best song of the year, and it could very easily be put onto a Neil Young and skate with some of his greatest songs. The album overall is solid, but the two singles really put this album into the next echelon.

Them Crooked Vultures - Self Titled

Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones, obviously you have very high expectations for an album featuring three rock gods. Well this record surpassed every expectation I had for the album. A very solid rock serenade from start to finish. As a side project it ranks probably as the best of all time, it seems so easy to make catchy riffs and have drums that thrash, but no other band is really doing it.

Grizzly Bear - Vecktamist

Weirdest album in the top 5. After one listen you will be saying to yourself, what am I listening too, has Smitty gone mad. Give it a few more listens after, and you will be saying to yourself this is pure genius. I don't even know how to describe this band. Falsetto lead singer, very odd guitar in the back ground, but it all goes together just beautifully in probably the most original album of the year.

Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus

This should have been what the Scissor Sisters turned into, but instead this very catchy band came out with songs that never seem to grow old for me. I usually give up on pop rock after a few listens, but this album has stuck in my playlist since I first heard it. I am very curious to see what they do for an encore. Dance rock is a very difficult genre to make work, but this band does it with ease.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Its Blitz

Ever listen to an album and say to yourself that is __________ as well. Well that's what I did with this album. I listen through it now and hear song after song that is fantastic. I don't generally put female lead singers in my top 5, but this album is absolutely number 1 with a bullet. You can throw this album on at any time and it will be a hit with any person. Solid guitar work, smooth lead singer, and just overall an album you can listen to over and over again. I don't generally like music that the public also digs, but everyone seems to like this album.

Christmas Party this coming Sunday which I am mc'ing again. Should be a good time, all 3 stores going. I would much prefer just the Cambridge store.

Bear in Heaven - great band that I just found out about. If you enjoy Vampire Weekend and Phoenix you will enjoy this band as well.

Bought a netbook recently. Really digging it. small portable and perfect for just surfing the web while watching TV.

I wish there was a way to find out if the world was getting smarter or dumber. My money would be on dumber. Society now seems settled on having things just thrown on their lap. They are told what to listen to and told what to watch. There is a reason why independent music will always stay independent Can you really think of an era with worse music then we are hearing right now? Even the 80's had Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Metallica. What do we have now Boom Boom Pow?

If you dig a little deeper into the music you will find fantastic talent. And in every era there were artists that made it on talent alone. Jimi Hendrix is the best guitarist of all time, McCartney and Lennon were the best lyricists of all time. John Bonham of Zeppelin is the best drummer of all time. And in my opinion Black Sabbath is the best band of all time. All these bands were extremely talented and in that era that was what sales were based upon. Now we have these over produced and under talented bands and solo artists that are coming out based on either their looks or their style. Bands are made instead of formed. Bands are making singles instead of albums. If you look at the top 20 today you might find one band that actually plays instruments and isn't produced.

It is so refreshing to find people who think the same way as me, but most people don't really care what they are listening too. They just want something catchy and easy. And it's becoming harder and harder to find people that actually care about music. The industry is dying and eventually it will just be computer noises that are pleasing to the ear. It will probably sound a bit like Las Vegas.

Sara and I started kick boxing last night, it's fairly easy other then the end of the night when they have these stupidly hard exercises that you have to do which it was very tempting to just pass out.

- Tune into the baseball series, unfortunately the Yanks look unstoppable.

I never thought I would see the day that TV shows were better written then movies. I watch Dexter, Glee, and even Gossip Girl, and I realize that the unthinkable has happened. TV is more watchable then movies. I used to just assume Victor from Young and the Restless would be the best actor that I would be seeing. Watching some of the new movies that are being released makes me feel queasy. I blame us for all of it though. We seem to not want to think when watching a movie anymore. We want to see things blow up, cars flip over, easy dialogue, and easily watchable stars. Movies don't really require thought anymore and are generally forgettable as soon as it ends. Most people can't remember any given scene of a Transformers movie or a Fast and the Furious movie. They can usually tell me that Megan Fox looked hot though.

I understand that there is a place for these movies, and a little eye candy is never a bad thing, but when these are the only movies that make any money we really have to think about what we are supporting. Check out "The Usual Suspects" or "Little Miss Sunshine" and put some money down to see something that maybe will cause your brain to have to exercise. If you want a glimpse into the future rent the movie "Idiocracy" and you can have a look into our world's future.

So people like to have that bumper sticker that says "out of a job yet, keep buying foreign." Well from past experience I have owned 2 oldsmobiles, 1 Buick, and 1 Pontiac. All caused me problems and almost made me have to have 2 jobs. I currently own a Mazda 6 and have had no problems with it.

Ate at Ellison's Bistro in Kitchener last night, wonderful Jamaican food. I would give it a solid 8.5/10. Jamaican food I would say is similar to Indian food in a lot of aspects with their curry and roti. It's not just about the jerk chicken and jamaican patties.

Pitchforkmeida.com currently has their top 100 albums of the 2000's. They rated Kid A by Radiohead number 1. I can't really argue this, but Arcade Fire number 2. Great that their a Canadian band and all, but number 2, wow....

Saw Dragonball the movie last night. Very light entertaining movie if you enjoy martial arts mashed with a little ADD.
